1.     Please introduce yourself and your business...

I’m Kerry-Louise Jones, I am 28 years old and after I get home from my day job I run Kerry-Lou’s Crafts which is a small handmade card and gift business.

2.     What is your favourite product from papermilldirect?

My favourite product is the textured white card, I love that it adds elegance to wedding invitations and that there is such a wide range of choice on textures but is closely followed by the off cuts box as that is such amazing value!

3.     How did you first start making cards and what inspired you?

I bought a Cricut machine to make my wedding invitations and once they were made it got put back in its box and left there for over a year until my husband started working away during the week and my evenings were left open. I got the machine out again and decided to learn all the different things it could do! I made some cards and gave them to my mum who took them into work and she called me up and said ow much everyone loved them and would I take orders!!

4.     Your products are very trend led have you found that your cards are more in demand now?

Yes the more modern designs I offer the more orders I get.

5.     How do you come up with your creative designs?

My customers are my main inspiration as their requests continually challenge me to create new designs but I am also part of numerous Facebook craft groups and addicted to Pinterest.

6.     Do you provide a bespoke service to your customers?

Yes I love offering this service as I feel I truly get to provide the customers with what they want.

7.     What have you found most challenging about your business so far?

Trying to get all the orders finished whilst working full time!

8.     Tell us about your creative process- how do you like to work?

I like to grab a coffee, pop Netflix on in the background and have all my crafting items surrounding me and then I just start building layers in design space until I get the look I want. Once I have the look I then fuss over the colour and texture of card to use for each element until I am happy (sometimes I send a picture to my mum for confirmation).
