Letterpress And Fethers 1

Hi everyone Sylvia here, today I have a short blog post showing a birthday card using white linen 255gsm card with a letterpress greeting. The colours were determined by the feathers which had been coloured previously with blue and brown distress inks.

I used the Go Press and Foil maching to letterpress a greeting onto a square of white linen card. Using tumbled glass distress ink I blended colour over the letterpress greeting to make it pop. The previously coloured feathers were added above the greeting with a string bow added and a few sequins were placed round the feathers and sentiment.

I chose buff smooth card 260gsm to mount the letterpress panel and matted this onto a pale turquoise square card blank. The card colours matched the distress ink colours wonderfully.

I have found papermilldirect card works extremely well for foiling and letterpressing, even the textured card works well. My next projects using foiling will be this year's Christmas cards, is it a little early to be thinking about Christmas cards?

We would love to know when you start to make yours, well in advance or last minute!
