Have you seen the new Papermilldirect Create-a-Calendar? I love these because you can have so much fun and creativity and they can make perfect gifts too. Last year I picked a different theme for each month that reflected the month, like Christmas in December, back to school in September, summer in August and so on. This year I have decided on a literary theme. I found quotes that reflected each month and printed them on Papermilldirect Hammered White Card. I then die cut these out using a frame die. I cut the outer part of the frame in varying Papermilldirect card colours.

First up, January. For this month I went white on white, so the card is all Hammered White card. The background is stamped with snowflakes in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and then watercolour background added with the Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire.

For February I used the Hammered White with a frame of Deep Blue Plain Card. I wanted to acknowledge that this is still a cold month as per the quote with the use of the blue. But then the nod to Valentines day came in from the Tattered Rose Distress Ink stamping and water colouring.

Finally in this blog post calendar installment for March, to reflect growth and Spring I used Pastel Green Plain Card. I then referenced the sun shine in the quote on this one by using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to stencil a sun in behind the quote.

My next post will tackle a few more months and how much more fun I have with these calendars. Make sure you get yours before its too late!
