Pillow Box Tutorial0
Hello there. Wendy here with a quick and easy way of making a pillow box for those times when you want something a little different as a way of wrapping a small gift/gift card.
The finished pillow box is approximately 5" x 2.5". To begin with I cut a piece of white hammered card to 6" x 6" and scored it by half an inch down one side. I stamped the card with some random dots using pink dye ink and folded the card in half. I then put some strong double adhesive tape on the flap, and glued the sides together.
Using a CD, (but you can use anything circular such as a plate, pot etc.) I put it on one end and drew a pencil line around it. Once you have done this on both edges, cut the lines to create the shape below.
Then using the CD again, score (not cut!) around the edge to create the opposite shape to the curved end. If you are using fairly thick card, as I did, then do this on both ends and turn it over and repeat.
Then carefully bend the curved end flaps inwards to close the box. I also used a small circle punch to cut out part of one of the flaps at each end so it makes it easier to open. You can then decorate the box how you want and pop your gift inside. Simples!
