Hi everyone its Stacey, its my first week back in my craft studio after a month away and to kick start the creativity again I’ve been crafting some pretty blooms using some card colours I’ve been dying to try. I’ve always struggled to find lovely shades of purple until I found Papermilldirect’s range. I just adore these two shades Purple Grape Plain Card 240gsm and Dark Violet Plain Card 240gsm (it's the closest I've found to Cadbury chocolate colour) I think they work lovely together.

As always the Cricut machine was turned on and ready to go. I love nothing more than using my trusty Cricut machine to cut my paper petals; I mainly work with the card stock setting when using Papermilldirect stock.

Once all my petals were cut I shaped them to curl upwards. The more pressure you apply to the paper when curling, the tighter your curl will be. I generally work my tool in a circle motion from base of petal to the tip.

Each bloom was made of seven petal layers.

Once all the petals were curled, I layered them one inside the other. The card stock really holds its shape well; I found I was able to reshape each petal if I needed to without the card loosing its sturdiness.

To finish each bloom, I gently opened up each layer - this is optional, you could opt for some nice closed up flowers.

I've not yet decided what I want to do with my blooms yet, I might attach some fascinator clips to back of each of them, add stems and put them in a vase or just have them as scatter flowers for my table, the beauty is you can do many things with them.

Happy crafting everyone and don't foget to share your creations with us, we always love to see what you're crafting.

This is absolutely beautiful! The colours are gorgoeus. Just stunning. I don't even work with this medium much but it's just so pretty!
