Cardmaking Ideas - Under the Sea Card

Hi All,

Nicole here to share a card to show you how to think outside the box with images when crafting. For this card I used:

• Papermilldirect Buff card
• Papermilldirect white card blank DL
• Papermilldirect Pale Turquoise card
• Papermilldirect Gold Gosgrain card
• Bloobel stamps Swimming Diver digi stamp
• Ship Porthole SVG cutting file by Printable Cuttable Creatables
• Fish SVG by Printable Cuttable Creatables
• Distress Ink

I started off with all my pieces cut with either the buff card stock or the gold. The majority of the card was buff, with the gold used for the accents on the porthole windows. I inked up the fish with Distress Inks, and I also fussy cut out the image so that it could fit in behind the windows.

I used tape to stick the image in behind the windows and I will let you in on a secret here - I laid the image on the front of the card first to see what would show through the windows. I saw that either the face or the legs would show and was initially disappointed. So I cut the image in half! I then stuck the image in behind the card on one window and the other half in behind the other window! It was a fun way to use an image, although a bit scary after all that colouring - but you can always print and colour again! I then stuck this panel onto the turquoise card to look like my sea and stuck onto the white card base - and done!!

Super simple and really outside the box use of a image. The little fish SVG in behind the diver was just a fun touch. I hope this gets you thinking of unusual ways to use image, and maybe even be brave enough to cut them up!
