Hi everyone it's Stacey and this week I've crafted a hydrangea decoration - a paper flower pomander. These simple yet sweet creations look will look lovely hanging in a child’s bedroom, on chairs at a wedding, as Christmas tree decorations or just to brighten up a room in your home.

To make your own sphere hydrangea or pomander you'll need:

A polystyrene ball, ribbon, glue gun, craft paper of your choice - I’ve used white pearlised and baby pink pearlised and a hydrangea craft punch or svg cutting file. I've used Martha Stewart meduim hydrangea punch.

I used one sheet of each coloured paper to punch the petals and I had quite a few petals left over - this all depends how big your polystyrene ball is. Once you've punched a big pile of petals it's time to start sticking them to the ball.

Use a small amount of glue in the middle of each piece so the sides don't stick down. Overlap every other piece as you glue them on and delicately lift up the edges to create a 3D effect.

Make sure you leave a small area for your ribbon to attach. I used my scalpel blade to cut out a very small hole for the ribbon. Cut your ribbon to your desired length and glue both ends together. Add a dollop of glue into the hole you’ve made and feed in the glued end of the ribbon. Make sure you hold it in place until the glue has started to harden – this shouldn't be too long if using a glue gun.

Hey presto you've got your very own beautiful hydrangea ball decoration.
