Hi everyone, Barbara back again, and this week I've been 'road-testing' Derwent Inktense Watercolour pencils.......

I've never used these type of pencils before, in fact, I just rarely 'colour in'......

I chose to use them with Papermilldirect white 'Hopsack' card

So, I started with the pencils and 2 pieces of hopsack sized at 6"x6" and 51/2"x51/2" and an A4 sheet of same.

I stamped my chosen images on the A4 piece of card, in Versamark, then heat-embossed in white.

Next, I flooded each image with water and picked up colour on my paint brush from the tip of the pencil. I just touched this gently into the flooded image.

I went through every image adding different shades of the same colour until I was happy with the result.

Continuing like this I coloured all the images, then die-cut them using a matching die....you could also 'fussy-cut' them at this stage if you haven't got matching stamps & dies.

To finish the cards, I scored the smaller piece of card into a trellis effect and mounted it onto matching coloured card, daffodil yellow and spring green. It's always easy to find matching colours with the massive selection that Papermilldirect stock.

I laid the images out into a satisfactory design ......then a little sentiment and I was done!

I've got to say, I LOVE these pencils, they are VERY inky and I will certainly be using them on a regular basis.
