Hi folks! Lisa here with a short tutorial on how to paper piece your stamped images.

Paper piecing is a fun way to add patterned details to stamps without spending hours colouring.

To paper piece you will need:

  • white cardstock to stamp your images (I have used super smooth white card from Papermilldirect).
  • A rubber stamp (I've used a Hero Arts stamp)
  • Patterned Paper (I've used Basic Grey patterned paper).
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Letraset Promarkers for skin colouring (or use any colouring mediums you have).
  • Scissors
  • Glue Pen

Step One

Stamp your images onto super smooth white card in the memento tuxedo black ink. I always stamp two of what I need incase I make a mistake.

Step Two

Colour the faces as the faces are the only part of the image which won't be paper pieced.

Step Three

Stamp your images onto patterned paper.

Step Four

Cut out your stamped images and the clothing and hat sections from the patterned paper.

Step Five

Using your glue pen, fill in the hat area with glue and adhere the hat patterned paper piece to the glued area. Repeat for the coat and add the scarf last.

And it's as easy as that! You can also paper piece your digital images by printing directly onto patterned paper. You'll just need to change your page size in the printer settings.
