Hi All,

Nicole here today to share a card that takes a love themed image and shows how you can use it for a more traditional use. For this card I used:

  • Papermilldirect Gosgrain Gold card
  • Papermilldirect Buff card
  • Papermilldirect Hammered Cream card
  • Scraps of patterned paper - my favourite thing to do!

I started by colouring an owl image, I coloured it in muted colours to match my papers. I then die cut it from a circle die. To get the hat to not be cut off I trimmed it first and lifted it to sit above the circle die. This means that when you cut the circle the hat is excluded. I then cut circles from the buff card (that I stamped a woodgrain pattern on) and the gold card. I also stamped a banner on some striped patterned paper and cut this out.  I then layered this all on the card base using foam pads on the circles for lots of dimensions. The card base was made of patterned paper and cream hammered card.

The happy birthday sentiment works with the image because the colours are nice and neutral but still fun. This card is perfect for any friends who have birthdays in February in particular!
