Hello it’s Angela back to share the other card I made using the Fluffy Chicks digi image set from The Lovely Studio (Pink Petticoat).  This time I’m teaming the image with a basket weave embossing folder and Papermilldirect's gorgeous Lustre print card in spring colours to create a cute Easter Card.  Here’s how I made it:

Step By Step:

Download and print off the Fluffy Chicks digi images and colour as desired.  I’m using First Edition alcohol markers and blender pen, adding highlights with a white gel pen.

Cut out completed image using a circle die.  To avoid the die slipping, secure with low tack or washi tape before running through die cutter.

S2 Die Cut Image Dsc00447

Emboss a 12cm square of Papermilldirect Lustre Print Gold ‘Harvest’ 300gsm using a basket weave embossing folder.  (Optional) Gently distress using a distressing tool or nail file across some of the raised basket weave embossing.

S3 Sand Embossing Dsc00450

Apply distress Ink in ‘Tea Dye’ over the distressed embossing to add shading and enhance the basket weave effect.

S4 Ink Embossing Dsc00451

Prepare components ready for assembly:  cut scalloped circle (approx. 8cm) and a 13cm square from PMD Lustre Print Silver ‘Spring Green’ card.  Score & fold PMD Smooth Ivory card in half and cut down to create a 14cm card base. Punch a decorative border from PMD Lustre Print Silver ‘Tea Rose’ paper.

S5 Components Ready Dsc00456

Mat embossed square onto Spring Green square mat using d/s tape to adhere. Add punched border trim across panel and secure ends on the back with d/s tape before adhering to card front.

S6 Mats And Trim Dsc00460

Take paper flowers in lemon and lilac colours, coil stems by winding around a pokey tool or pencil.

S7 Twirl Stems Dsc00462

Mat Image circle onto scalloped circle and then onto a small paper doily using d/s tape and / or glue.  Mount the layered panel to card front using 3D foam pads. To finish add a lilac bow and arrange the paper flowers around the image.

Digi images are great to add the ‘stamped’ look to your cards, you know you will get an evenly ‘inked’ image every time.  They are economical as you only need to print as and when you need them.  I’ve used alcohol markers to colour but you can use other mediums such as coloured pencils for example.  Happy Easter!  Angela x
