batch of cards

Hi, everyone, it's Stacey and my craftiness this week consisted of some cute floral cards. I received a very exciting parcel from the lovely people at Papermilldirect containing a variety of card blanks. If you didn’t already know, Papermilldrect recently launched a handy selection of card blanks for crafters. You can check them out on the website here - Card Blanks.

The card blanks come in a range of sizes complete with a half fold crease: large square (147mm x 147mm), small square (122mm x 122mm), DL (100mm x 210mm), A5 (148mm x 210mm and A6 (105mm x 148mm).

They come in packs of 10, 25 or 50 and in the following textures: hemp, hopsack, linen, hammered and pearlised.

I’m quite new to crafting cards but I did thoroughly enjoy experimenting with these card blanks. I kept my designs quite simplistic and chose to do a range of flower themed messages.

Cutting on my cricut

Cricut cut flower

I used a basic flower shape and my chosen font was Nexa Rust Sans Black. I stuck with short phrases that would fit nicely inside each flower shape. I turned all type to outlines to cut on my Cricut machine. I used the pathfinder shape mode in Illustrator to punch the text out of the flower. Once all designs were created I uploaded the files to my machine and began cutting.

Using a few small dots of mod podge I secured each flower to the card blank.

I collected all the excess cuttings of the letters and I’ve stored them for future use. I always recommend recycling your card and paper scraps.

To create the smaller of the two ‘bloom baby bloom’ cards I cut in half a DL card size to create two mini cards.

For all the card makers out there, these are a great buy from as little as £3.45. Whether you’re crafting birthday cards, Christmas cards (always good to be prepared), greetings cards, wedding invitations etc. you’ll not be disappointed with the quality of these blanks.

Don’t forget to keep sharing your creations with us on social media; we love seeing what you’ve been making.
