Cardmaking Idea - Water Coloured Thank You Card

Hi All,

Nicole here to show you how to make a fun and elegant thank you card, using Papermilldirect card, a die and watercolours. Fun, simple and easy, just how we like it right? for this card I used:

• Papermilldirect Plain White Card
• Papermilldirect Navy Card
• Papermilldirect Square Card Blank
• Kuratakai Gansai Watercolours
• Heart Die cut
• White Ink
• Thank You stamp

I started off by cutting a panel of navy card down to slightly smaller than the white square card base.

I then cut down the panel of white card and tore along the top and bottom to add some texture to it. I then added water colour to it in shades of blues and let it dry. When dry I added some gold water colour splatters.

I then lined up where I wanted my sentiment on the panel. Because the card had warped a bit I used my Misti stamp tool to keep the paper in place and line the stamp up. This also meant I could repeat stamp the white a few times to get good coverage.

I then diecut the heart out of the navy card and glued this onto the water colour panel. You need to make sure the water colour is completely dry for this step. I also added the weight of a stamp block and a hardback book for a few minutes until the glue was dry.

I then adhered the white panel onto the navy. I used foam tape all over the back of the white panel as this helps smooth out the warping from the water colouring and prevent it looking too warped and buckled on the card.

The entire panel then went onto the card base and then the card was done! It is a fun card to make and you can make it in any colour scheme to match your Papermilldirect card. You can have a stash of them in multiple colours and even for different occasions, depending on what dies you use.
