Photographic or Fine Art - What's the difference?
We have split our surfaces of paper media into two categories. The first, 'photographic' contains those papers that are considered to be used in photographic reproductions, wedding images, landscapes, general photos etc. This section contains Gloss, Pearl and Matt papers. These papers have a nanoporus resin coated surface; this results in sharp detail and excellent colour.
The other section 'Fine Art' contains Soft Textured, Photo Smooth High White Cotton and Canvas Fine Art. These papers are accredited with the Fine Art Trade Guild for their archival properties. They are Acid and Lignin free, the two main contributors to image fade and degradation. When used with pigmented inks the image life is maximised. These papers are generally used for Limited Edition fine art prints, art reproductions etc.
